You're doing a heckuva job, Johnny

ABC News has the facts and figures. Why can't they just come out and say it in plain English? John McCain is an opportunist who has flip-flopped what he ostensibly stands for to blow with the prevailing economic and political winds. How can he, as self-avowed "oversighter of the whole economy" (i.e. chairman of the Commerce Committee) pretend that he bears no responsibility for the present state of the economy?

How can bi-partisan attempts to try to undo some of the damage have any chance of working unless people accept responsibility for their actions - or inaction? How can McCain act as if the whole economic meltdown is a surprise to him, when he has supposedly been "oversighting" the whole economy?

Thanks for the warning and the valiant efforts to stop the meltdown, Mr. Oversighter. You're doing a heckuva job, Johnny.

Update: Here is another story about flip-flopping, position-swapping John McCain that is hiding behind a benign headline: A New McCain on the Campaign Trail . Come on, if you're going to call a guy out for being a desperate liar and panderer, why not say it right out in the headline?
