Random comments from various message boards

"Other than the ultra affluent, how can anyone support the Republican Party? When will small town America realize that they are being duped into supporting the ultra-affluent agenda? ... Islamic fundamentalists come from small town Middle East and give the same kind of talking points as the evangelicals. They want prayer in school, no choice available to women, and believe to the core that their ideas about worship and country are the best. Wake up small town America you are being duped. Talking about who is more patriotic, symbols, lipstick and wearing pins are nothing more than distractions to the real issue of how a few select group of people have held power almost continuously for over 30 years. This comment is especially potent after the "DON'T BLINK" remarks made by Palin during the Charles Gibson interview, and in view of her attitudes about Russia, Iran, and Israel:

"In a nuclear world the very last politician the US needs is a self-proclaimed maverick, or a pair of mavericks ... who do not see the misery of others, who pretend to stand taller than others, who claim their might is right, who pretend God is on their side, only."

Paul Reiser writes:
