A note from Common Cause:
Today, September 17, is Constitution Day. And unfortunately, we don't have much to celebrate. Our democracy is in distress, as abuses of power by the Executive Branch go unchecked, and Congress fails to stand up for what's right. That's why Common Cause is calling on every presidential and congressional candidate to sign a pledge to restore the core values of American democracy – freedom from tyranny, respect for individual liberty and human rights, and government based on the rule of law.
